Verbal, physical and threatening abuse towards officials, even young referees under the age of eighteen, seems to have only increased since the return of grassroots level sports post-lockdown with new research suggesting it's reached a crisis point.

The research by Dr Tom Webb and Martin Cassidy, for their book Referees, Match Officials & Abuse, in which they surveyed 2,056 referees in England, found that more than nine in ten referees had been verbally abused, while 59.7% experienced some form of abuse every two games. In cricket and rugby, around 55% of officials said they had experienced abuse while in charge of a match, while in football a staggering 93.7% of officials reported incidents of abuse.

Our one-touch red sliding switch activates the camera with a single, quick and simple action, making it extremely easy for referees to operate at a moments notice. Plus with pre-record, footage is captured up to 30 seconds before the switch is activated to give a complete picture of incidents that may have taken place.

Designed for the Field: The KS4 supports game play in more remote locations by facilitating footage uploading by WiFi through a light touch action for review by other parties. More advanced functionality such as GPS coordinate capturing gives additional information on camera usage and allows for locations to be tracked for enhanced incident investigation.

Reveal body cameras are designed to calm situations before they escalate. By displaying footage on the front-facing screen in real-time as it is being recorded, the behaviour of those on both sides of the lens is modified and transparency between referees, players and coaches is maximised. Just wearing the device will be enough to prevent some incidents from ever happening, once the screen is on and recording, the front-facing screen further deescalates the levels of aggression and should the worst happen, there will be visual and audio evidence of the event, including up to 30 seconds prior to the recording starting according to which model used.
