Face Match is a brand new feature from the K-Series range of AI-enabled body cameras that you can trust. Our Face Match technology can focus on people who are missing or vulnerable, the ability to stop crime before it happens and tackle the issues of proactively prosecuting re-offenders.

The K-Series utilises the latest chipsets, allowing the camera to perform various Artificial Intelligence tasks, including Face Match. When this feature is enabled, the camera is programmed to match faces seen in the field against an uploaded pre-configured watchlist of people of interest.

If a match is found, the camera will respond in a predetermined way to create a safer, more effective, faster and streamlined workflow.

Facematch Live

Facematch Live is used internationally to deter crime and protect public safety in a number of industries and locations.

Reveal's AI research and body worn camera expertise spanning two decades for police forces and security firms have led to the implementation of a unified system equipped to handle facial and object recognition through our advanced FaceMatch Search tool. During incidents of deployment, recognition coupled with facial and object percentage matching capability provides officers with quick decision-making and doubles-up as a prompt for pre-emptive solutions to ensure the smooth running of public safety. Safeguards and full transparency is in place to strike the right balance to protect privacy laws and human rights.

Watchlists, managed through DEMS 360, are uploaded only to the appropriate cameras as and when needed, allowing specific watchlists to utilised for brief operation.

When the camera is in the field, Reveal’s body camera optimised algorithm generates face descriptors of every face encountered. If a strong match is made with the watchlist then the camera will respond according, for example, to alert the user, start recording or start streaming.

How It Works

During officer deployment with body worn cameras, persons or objects of interest are marked to a watchlist from a police/security officer after stringent due diligence to stream facial or object recognition to the camera and DEMS. The technology measures the; structure of the face, nuances in face measurement such as eye to nose and mouth distance to create a facial template. When a potential match is triggered, an alert is sent to the officer through his Reveal Body Camera. This is sorted for 21 days before deleting. Biometric data on similar persons identified yet not earmarked for further investigation are immediately deleted.

How Do Reveal customers use FaceMatch Search and FaceMatch Live?

The latest K-Series body cameras are in-built FaceMatch Search and FaceMatch Live. These tools can assist police departments in identifying suspects of interest through artificial intelligence. The technology is used to display a percentage match against the image/video of people previously held in custody or placed on a watchlist. Any match is rigorously reviewed by the police on whether pursual is necessary to protect the public.
